EV FirePro is a unique fire suppression system, specifically developed to handle electric vehicle fires – a groundbreaking solution to effectively counteract thermal runaway and the dangerous chain reaction that can occur due to faults in lithium-ion batteries.

EV FirePro is designed for permanent installation in parking lots, where it releases multiple targeted water streams to control heat development when a battery enters thermal runaway. The system also protects adjacent vehicles and building structures, limits the spread of the fire, and minimizes structural damage – thereby offering unmatched safety for both vehicles and the surrounding environment.

TARGETED SPRAY FOR LI-ION FIRES

EV FirePro uses its own low-profile nozzles to deliver water in two key ways: 

  • Underside Protection: Water is sprayed directly onto the underside of the electric vehicle, reaching the lithium-ion battery pack.​ 

  • Lateral Protection: A secondary spray pattern extends outward, providing protection to adjacent vehicles and nearby property from potential jet flames.

Delivering water to the underside of the vehicle to cool the battery pack is impossible with traditional sprinkler systems.

ENHANCED SAFETY FOR EMERGENCY RESPONDERS 

Li-ion battery fires can emit vapour clouds of toxic gasses. Without EV FirePro in operation, emergency responders may need to get close to the vehicle risking exposure to these gases, jet like flames and possible explosions.

Getting water to the underside of the vehicle to cool the battery pack is impossible via traditional overhead water sprinkler systems. By suppressing the fire right from the initial stages, EV FirePro can prevent flames from spreading to nearby vehicles and causing structural damage to buildings. EV FirePro reduces the overall fire intensity and decreases risks for emergency responders.

CONFIGURATIONS 

AUTOMATIC ACTIVATION CONNECTED TO EXISTING WATER SUPPLY


EV FirePro can be connected to the building’s existing domestic water supply, fire hydrant, or sprinkler system. Upon detection of a battery fire in a vehicle parked above the system, EV FirePro will send a signal to the building’s fire detection and alarm system, notify the fire department’s monitoring service, and automatically open a valve that allows water to flow to the underside of the vehicle and laterally from beneath it.

EV FIREPRO NOT CONNECTED TO A WATER SUPPLY

In its simplest configuration, where connection to a building’s existing water supply is not available, the EV FirePro system can have a fire brigade hose connection, remote to the parking bay, allowing fire crews to connect and supply water to the system.

MULTI-INSTALLATION USING COMMON WATER SUPPLY PIPEWORK


EV FirePro can be installed to serve multiple parking bays from a common water supply pipe connected to an existing water supply. Each EV FirePro has its own water supply solenoid valve meaning only the fire-affected parking bay will activate. EV FirePro can be activated manually from an E-Stop / Start button located remote to the parking bay where a fire brigade hose connection is also located.
